This summer is too hot and lack of raining has increased problems of people particularly of Karachi, Sindh and rest of Pakistan. Following is a guide to get rid of summer and dehydration problems particularly in sehar and iftar in the holy month of Ramadan.
Recommended intakes and things to do:
Prefer home-made drinks such as fruit juices, lemonade, salted milk-lassi
In sehar or breakfast and iftar or dinner, take lots of water, eat yogurt and milk etc (i.e. dairy products).
Wear loose and light clothes like cotton in which air could pass through easily and avoid using unnecessary cloths. If go into the sunlight, keep yourself covered specially head and back of the neck (nape).
Keep yourself cool especially in load-shedding by suing hand fans, wet towels and spray water on your face, neck feet and bands etc.
Take extra care of elders (senior citizens), children (particularly infants) and do needful for water arrangement for birds and animals.
Things to avoid:
Don't take drinks containing caffeine and excess sugar like soda water cold drinks/beverages, tea, coffee, energy drinks e.g. Coca Cola, Sprite, Pepsi, 7 up, Dew, Red Bull etc.
Avoid direct sunlight in summer particularly during 12 to 3 PM
Avoid places where you may get sweating, e.g. kitchen particularly in front of the stove.
Avoid consuming oily and spicy food particularly deep fried foods and also avoid fast food, use healthy and home-made food instead.
