KDA Plot and Property File Verification: Online or Civic Center

Purchaser can verify plot or property ownership online or by visiting Civic Center near purani sabzi mandi in Karachi.

Online verification

Download the official app and scan the bar code with the Android app and the app will show the details of the ownership.

File Verification validity

The online verification through app is valid for the transfers since June 2020 afterwards. Scanning barcode or QR Code will lead to the file information and the ownership. Property files transferred before June of 2020 do not have this facility.

Civic Center Visit Verification

Visit Civic Center where there are two ways, one is legal and the other is through bribery.

Legal verification

Write an application requesting for the verification of the property. Make the copy/photostat/duplicate and submit to the Civic Center office and get receiving on the copy/photostat/duplicate of the application . The officials will take around 15 days or more to reply for the plot, apartment etc. verification either the file clear, have duplicated documents in case of lost/damaged etc.

Bribery

Bribery is the same way but difference is no need for application and that the officials take a few minutes to respond verbally.

Agents

As you enter Civic Center gate, number of agents will approach you. They usually ask for the payment 5 times than the amount they may get agree upon. In every government institution agents are outside, inside or both sides of the government office. The always ask most of the options you have and you may know more that what else can be done in the office but not always correct or reliable.

Never give documents to agents particularly original at all. Insist on going through yourself with the agent and sometime these agent give fake information. Always confirm and decide the overall payment with the agent and do ask him what is his commission. The phrase jo dil chahy day daina, buss chai paani day daina, jo munasib lagay etc. etc. are to trap the visitor as the visitors or purchasers are blank but agents used to deal and trap the innocent public and agents know the psychology of the visitor very well. They also get an idea with the facial expression and body language how worried or blank the purchaser will be.
