How to do that?
Get one-liter plastic bottles, fill with water and a few teaspoons of bleach, and the Bottle Light Bulb is in ready to install on the roof. To fit this light source, first a hole is made into the roof of the house then installed by fixing the bottle through the sealed hole in the roof (usually metallic roof of poor dwellings).
How it works and it's life?
When the sunlight falls onto the water in the bottles, it gets diffracted and lets the whole place glow. With few teaspoons of bleach, the water in the bottle remains clean, and the device could be used up to five years.
Limitations:
Unfortunately this opportunity can be availed in the day only as this require light to diffract, sunlight in our case. Have an experience in the full Moon light in the night?
The idea came from students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), and being applied to light up homes and poor settlements in the Philippines. The concept is very simple but a real wonder for those poor people who lived in darkness, or at the light of toxic petrol lamps.
Now you have to think that how to use this idea for your home to enlighten your flat, cottage, bungalow etc. where you can't cut your roof.
