For this, need processor higher in speed specs for example GHz, cores, Cache (L1 cache, L2 cache) etc. To run a CPU better, we may also tend to increase memory (RAM) and may require bigger storage, so included Hard disk drive (HDD) as well. And the motherboard, obviously.

As conclusion, usually we need 3 to 4 things when replace a laptop, rest of the components are still in use and enough for our needs.

Question arises here, do we replace rest of the computer components as well.

The simple answer is big Yes.

Actually we are forced to replace. Although this is not the case if we replace desktop. because we just replace required components or the components which depend on other components.

As a conclusion, laptop makers force us to purchase rest of the components we already have , and in some cases we have better than the new one.

You must purchase new screen, speakers, touch pad, camera, drives. And also, do install all your required software including operating system to video players.

As a good breeze, Framework computers are said to be The laptop company that doesn't treat its customers as idiots. They tend to provide replacing components all around as much as possible.
