This is reply of another postSecular community in Pakistan exaggerate the 11th August speech of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah out of context even misleading and misinterpreting to prove that he announced Pakistan as secular state. Following is the selection from speeches of Quaid-e-Azam to guide the nation towards right direction for the development and prosperity of Pakistan and it's citizens.
What we want is not to talk about Bengali, Punjabi Sindhi, Baluchi, Pathan and so on. They are of course units. But I ask: have you forgotten the lesson that was taught to us thirteen hundred years ago? If I may point out, you are all outsiders here. Who were the original inhabitants of Bengal not those who are now living. So what is the use of saying “we are Bengalis, or Sindhis, or Pathans, or Punjabi”. No, we are Muslims. Islam has taught us this, and I think you will agree with me that whatever else you may be and whatever you are, you are a Muslim. You belong to a Nation now; you have now carved out a territory, vast territory, it is all yours; it does not belong to a Punjabi or a Sindhi, or a Pathan, or a Bengali; it is yours. You have got your Central Government where several units are represented. Therefore, if you want to build up yourself into a Nation, for God’s sake give up this provincialism.
You are only voicing my sentiments and the sentiments of millions of Mussalmans when you say that Pakistan should be based on pure foundations of Social Justice and Islamic Socialism, not other isms! Brotherhood, equality, and fraternity of man – these are all the basic points of our religion, culture and civilization and we fought for Pakistan because there was a danger of the denial of these human rights in this Subcontinent. After all, the story of Pakistan and its struggle and its achievement is the very story of great human ideals struggling to survive in the face of odds and difficulties.
Let us now plan to build and reconstruct and regenerate our great nation. Now is the time, chance and opportunity for every Mussalman to make his or her fullest and best contribution and make the greatest sacrifice and work ceaselessly and selflessly in the service of our nation and make Pakistan one of the greatest nations of the world. Pakistan is now a fait accompli and it can never be undone.
